Giovanni Domenico Tiepolo (1727–1804) was an Italian artist. His circa-1770 drawing Rest on the Flight into Egypt shows Mary, Joseph and the child beside a palm. The Metropolitan Museum of Art holds it as 1975.1.474. It documents later artistic reception, not the story's pre-Islamic date. [1]
