Text
Raleigh Heth studies ancient mythic literature, especially texts from MesopotamiaMesopotamiaA historical region associated with the Tigris and Euphrates, home to many societies and civilisations.Glossary · Click to read the explanation and the eastern Mediterranean. He earned a 2023 PhD in theology, with a focus on Christianity and Judaism in antiquity, from the University of Notre Dame. His university profile also lists interests in biblical literature and ancient historiography. [1]
With T. E. Kelley, he published 'Isaac and Iphigenia' in Biblica in 2021. The publisher's abstract compares child-sacrifice narratives in Israelite and Greek literature and proposes a shared eastern Mediterranean perspective. This is the authors' interpretation, not proof of direct borrowing between the stories. Only the abstract was consulted here. [2]
