Text

Diogenes Laertius wrote Lives and Opinions of Eminent Philosophers, preserving accounts and quotations about Greek thinkers. His work is usually placed in the early third century CE, while his biography remains uncertain. Prologue9 attributes to Theopompus a report about Magian teachings and humans living again. The transmitting writer’s date must be distinguished from that of the source he names. [1][2]
