Text

Merenre I was an Egyptian king of the Sixth Dynasty in the late third millennium BCE. [1]

The Metropolitan Museum dates a vessel inscribed with his name about 2255–2246 BCE. His name also identifies a Pyramid Texts witness in the creation study; a copy attests a text’s existence rather than its first composition.
