Text

Unas was the last king of Egypt’s Fifth Dynasty, in the late third millennium BCE. [1]

His pyramid at Saqqara is the earliest known royal pyramid bearing the Pyramid Texts. He therefore appears in discussion of their earliest witnesses; an inscription’s date differs from the origin of each tradition it preserves.
