The Bundahishn is a Middle Persian Zoroastrian work combining traditions about creation, the world’s structure and renewal. Iranian and Indian recensions survive through successive compilations. The Encyclopaedia Iranica study connects a late redaction with a setting around the ninth century CE, alongside older materials. Chapter 30 of the Indian recension, in the cited historical translation, describes resurrectionResurrection of the deadThe dead returning to life, distinguished from soul immortality, with differing scope and form among texts.Glossary · Click to read the explanation, judgment, molten metal and purification.
