Text

Al-Kahf describes a servant granted mercy and knowledge without naming him. Bukhari and Muslim reports identify him as Khidr. Distinguish Quranic wording, reports and commentary. [1] [3] [4]

The life-spring report alone does not establish every later idea of perpetual survival. The modern diagram distinguishes reading layers; it is not a historical portrait. [3]
