Text

The divine council is an image of divine beings assembled in an ordered body, sometimes under a presiding deity. It differs from “pantheonPantheonThe set of deities associated with a religious tradition, including their roles and relationships.Glossary · Click to read the explanation”, which names the broader set of gods. The council’s members, leadership and functions must be examined in a specific text rather than assumed to be identical across traditions. [1]
